The first Literature Circle that we had went very well. We are reading Holler if You Hear Me by Michie and we decided to read the first three chapters. In this literature circle, we picked an important passage that stood out in Chapter 2. One of the passages that we chose was about a boy name Hector. Hector was a boy who wanted to drop out and give up on his education, because he feel as though his teachers and peers are looking at him as a "gangbanger". This was a passage that we all could relate to, because there has been one point in time when all of us have felt judged by a professor. Also, we have felt pressured by the work itself or just by the environment so it is easy to want to give up on your education.
